• Before lighting the candle, check the length of the wick.

  The ideal wick length is about 0.5 cm. If the wick is longer, trim it to prevent a smoky, flickering flame. You can use specially designed wick trimmers (their shape makes them convenient for working with deep candles) or traditional office scissors.

  Burn the candle until the wax melts all the way to the edges of the container.

  This ensures the candle burns evenly and prevents “tunneling,” allowing you to use all the wax and enjoy your candle longer.

  It is best to burn the candle for 2–3 hours at a time.

  If burnt for too long, a 100% cotton wick may burn too quickly, the flame may become too strong, or it might drown in the wax. After 3 hours, extinguish the candle, wait for the wax to solidify, trim the wick, and then relight it.

  Extinguish the candle using a wooden lid or a special snuffer.

  Otherwise, an extinguished wick (such as when blowing out the flame) will produce much more smoke.

  Candles do not like to be left alone, so never leave a burning candle unattended.

  Important!

  During the final burn, do not use up the candle completely. It’s advisable to leave 0.5–1 cm of wax/paraffin at the bottom of the container. Filled candles are typically housed in glass vessels, which can crack under high temperatures and flame.
