Rosemary leaves and stems contain essential oils, bitter diterpene compounds, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, resins, zinc, and beta-carotene. Lavender flowers and stems are rich in polyphenolic derivatives (rosmarinic acid), triterpenic (ursolic acid), and bitterness (picrosalvin, carnosol), as well as essential oil.
